Brian M. Barish, CFA, President, Director of Research

President and Director of Research, Brian Barish is responsible for Cambiar's disciplined, relative-value approach to investment management and is head of the investment committee. With over 18 years experience, Brian’s primary analytical responsibilities are the technology, autos and aerospace & defense sectors. Prior to joining Cambiar in 1997, he served as Director of Emerging Markets Research for Lazard Freres & Co., a New York based investment bank.  He has also served as a securities analyst with Bear, Stearns & Co. and Arnhold & S. Bleichroeder, a New York based research firm.  Brian received a BA in Economics and Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Ania A. Aldrich, CFA, Principal

With over 18 years experience, Ania Aldrich a member of the investment committee and a senior investment analyst covering the financial services and consumer products sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 1999, she was a global equity analyst at Bankers Trust, a New York based investment company, covering the financial services and transportation sectors.  She began her career as senior investor relations professional at BET PLC, a New York based communications firm.  Ania holds an MBA in Finance from Fordham University and a BA in Computer Science from Hunter College, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.

Maria L. Mendelsberg, CFA, Principal

With over 14 years experience, Maria Azari is a member of the investment committee and a senior investment analyst covering the healthcare and retail sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 1997, she served as an investment analyst for Eaton Vance Management, a Boston based investment company. Before launching her investment career, Maria spent many years working in retail management. Maria received a BA in Economics and Classics from Brown University, and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.


Timothy A. Beranek, Senior Vice President

With over 15 years experience, Tim Beranek is a member of the investment committee and an investment analyst covering the basic materials and utility sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 1999, he was with Resources Trust where he had responsibility for oversight of financial controls for the company’s mutual fund trading relationships.  Tim began his career with Merrill Lynch.  He holds a Masters in Finance from the University of Colorado and a BS in Economics from the University of South Dakota.

Andrew P.  Baumbusch, Vice President

Andy Baumbusch is responsible for the global coverage of the industrials, telecommunications, media and transportation sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 2004, Andy was an analyst with Franklin Templeton, covering the wireless communications industry. He held investment analyst positions with Atrium Capital; a Silicon Valley based private equity firm, and Alex Brown & Sons, in Baltimore. Andy holds an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA in Economics from Princeton University.


Bo K. Brownstein, Vice President

Bo Brownstein is responsible for coverage of the business services, leisure  and hospitality/property businesses sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 2004, Bo worked as an investment analyst for Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Credit Suisse First Boston. Bo holds an MBA from Columbia University with a focus in equity research and a BA in Political Science and History from the University of California Los Angeles.

Jeffrey Susman, Vice President

Jeff’s primary analytical responsibilities are coverage of the electronics, hardline retail and restaurant sectors.  In addition, Jeff assists senior portfolio managers in the management and administration of the Conquistador small cap value fund. Prior to joining Cambiar in 2005, he was at UBS Investment Bank in New York, where he was an associate analyst in the Global Communications Equipment Equity Research Team.  Jeff began his career in Boston at Wellington Management.  Jeff holds an MBA in Finance and Corporate Strategy from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan and a BA in Economics and International Relations from Tufts University.



Jennifer M. Dunne, CFA, Vice President

Jennifer is responsible for global coverage of the energy, industrials, utilities and basic materials sectors.  Prior to joining Cambiar in 2005, Jennifer was a senior equity analyst with Founders Asset Management LLC and was a small cap international generalist.  With over 11 years experience, Jennifer holds a graduate diploma from the London School of Economics, a Masters in Economics from the University of British Columbia and a BA from the University of Colorado, Boulder. 


Todd L. Edwards, PhD, Vice President

Todd Edwards is an International investment analyst and his primary analytical responsibilities include global coverage of the financial and consumer sectors. Prior to joining Cambiar in 2007, Mr. Edwards was a director at Citigroup Global Markets, where he worked in the international equity sales group. Prior to Citigroup, Mr. Edwards worked for BBVA Securities as both the Latin America equity strategist and as the director of equity research. Most recently Mr. Edwards completed two international studies textbooks, on Brazil and Argentina. Todd holds an MA and PhD from Tulane University, and a BA from The Colorado College.  

Alvaro Shiraishi, Vice President

Alvaro's primary analytical responsibilities at Cambiar are global coverage of the property, construction, infrastructure and retail sectors.  Before  joining Cambiar in 2007, he worked for the  Aon Corporation in Chicago, conducting transaction driven financial and risk research for the industrials and construction segments. Prior to his work at Aon, Alvaro was an Equity Analyst for UBS in New York, covering the Latin American Building Materials, Construction, Homebuilding, Property and Transports industries.  Alvaro received a BA in Economics from Universidad Panamericana in Mexico City.
